On transmission Zeros of piezoelectric structures

The evaluation of transmission zeros is great importance for the control engineering applications. structures equipped with piezoelectric patches are complex to model and usually require finite element approaches supplemented by reduction. This study rigorously investigates influence mesh size, reduction, boundary conditions (free clamped), sensor/actuator configuration (collocated non-collocated) on structures. numerical illustrations presented a thin rectangular plate single pair voltage sensor/ actuator. Through examples considered in this study, link between static response (or deflected shape) interesting observation forms basis of: (i) local refinement strategy computationally efficient estimation (ii) physical interpretation pole-zero pattern case developed helps qualitatively explaining patterns observed different configurations. It also shown that understanding relation deformed shape can be used practitioners modify through careful selection orientation size patches.
